Valentines Day

Well, I think both of us temporarily forgot it was Valentines day so when we went to find a dinner reservation, everywhere seemed full, and when I called Cilantros, the lady talked to me like I was an idiot for even calling to ask for Valentines reservations 2 days in advance!! River Cafe had a 25 person wait list, so we ended up getting in at Hy's which worked out just perfect, as dinner was fantastic, and we even got 2 bernard callebout chocolates with the bill! It is now freezing cold in Calgary, and I remember why I hate -25 and snow on my car, but it is suppossed to be nice soon, plus next week we are headed to Banff for a few days, and then we leave for DC/Vegas in just 5 weeks!

Having no job makes for a very relaxed life at home. Yesterday Rob, Jason and I went for lunch at Momoji for some sushi (and other tasty Japanese foods) and then went over to Sunridge so Rob could get a new cell phone. I am sure he is enjoying the fact he can actually answer his phone calls now. I am going snowboarding tomorrow, hoping for good snow, as it was last week that seemed to get all the powder of course! Also in the process of looking for jobs, a few promising prospects so far. Rob and I have done some babysitting this week as well, for my cousins and his niece/nephew. That is about all that is new....I have to say, there are definitly moments where I miss the beach life!

home coming pictures

This posting is for the benefit of K and K, but here are our pictures from leaving KL and getting into Calgary....where we are way more tired than we look! After being home a week, it feels like ages ago we were traveling. Of course, we have lots of planning now for DC/Vegas and especially England. I played soccer tonight, was excellent to get back into it.....and the job search will soon begin!

Home

Well, since being home, we have enjoyed some great food at Joey's, Buon Giorno, and Safeway, and I have been accidentally hitting my windshield wipers instead of my signal light a few times, since in New Zealand they were reversed in our car! It snowed, we have been a little chilly, we finally got haircuts for the first time in a long time, and are making plans to catch up with friends and family. Yes....it is good to be home!
