The Monkey Stole Rob's Juice!!!

We have been a busy here on Langkawi, enjoying the sun and our pool, today finally venturing out on a tour. We were picked up this morning for the island hopper, and our first stop was to a fresh water lake called Lake of the Pregnant Maiden ,as the island from a distance looks like a maiden lying on her back. There was a bit of a walk through the jungle to get there, and as we walked, there were tons of monkeys around. Well, Rob just happened to be carrying a litre of mango juice, and 3 monkey's all ran at him, swarming him.

Rob instantly surrendered the juice to the monkeys who ran away gleeful with their new treat, and I was stuck with drinking warm bottled water instead of the cold mango juice, which the monkeys drank every last sip of, ripping the container open to lick the insides.

Once at the lake, we rented paddleboats which was quite pleasant, although Chris and Jason had the foresight to get a solar powered one so they laughed at all of us paddling away in the heat. We then went to another island (Langkawi has 103 islands) where the guide threw chicken chips in the water and dozens of eagles came down to feed just by the boat. From there we were off to an idyllic beach where we swam and lazed about under the shade of a tree.

We just finished a great dinner at a very clean restaurant where we had our first he/she serving us. They also had the greatest bathroom I have ever seen, as there were only 3 walls with the other side being open and I could view a man made creek and flowers while in the loo! Pleasant indeed!

Pictures will be coming soon (fingers crossed)

Great to hear of your further adventures in Malaysia.....heh Rob.....losing your juice to a monkey.....he he.....did Sarah tell you they stole the top half of my bikini (ssuit was drying on the clothesline after a swim in the Andaman Sea....not on me at the time!!!!) I often wonder if those darn little critters have a stockpile of stolen tourist goodies in some little hole!! Looking forward to pictures.....I think Thailand should have internet cafes where you can hook up and arrange the picture transfers or whatever the heck it is one does to produce the images on the screen for the folk back home. Enjoy the rest of Malaysia.....love mom :) Sarah...great to hear your voice this morning. Miss you....Tim just came home and says hi.

Sarah, I bet your getting kicks out of my brother "the great traveler". I know I am. I'm finding this rather funny. Its still hard for me to imagen him being over there, after thinking back to our camping trips as a family. Hope everything is going well.
