To Clarify......

Well the days here are certainly slow, we are not bored, just living a relaxed life!! Today was great, we had a afternoon nap and then broke out the frisbee and we had a good run on the beach tossing it back and forth. The grass may be greener on the other side but we realize we are living the good life! I was looking at pictures of the snow report at Sunshine and all of us here who ski/board are very envious of all those who get to enjoy it. We will just have to enjoy the beach doubly tomorrow. We are excited to get to Ko Samui in a few days, as we have discovered there is a Starbucks there. Globalization may have its pros and cons, but there is a point where a Starbucks everywhere can be a good thing.

Plus we are ready for a little more civilization, as we are slowly tiring of manually flushing the toilet with buckets of water. Plus we had to spray an army of ants that invaded the bathroom today!! Potent bugspray they have here, all ants died immediately on impact! As tonight is the last night before the full moon party, a little relaxing is in order. I think Krista and I will be heading to the massage place to see about a massage/pedicure combo. Should cost around 10 CAD!

Comments:
Any reason you guys aren't exploring further before Koh Samui or did you already pay for the whole week in the bungalows in advance? It really is quite an idyllic spot......one you will think about fondly in years to come....especially when in the midst of a Canadian winter!!! Love mom

We aren't exploring Ko Phangan since there is not a lot else to explore and the roads are horrendous to take taxis on, especially since taxis are just sitting in the back of a pick up truck on a bench, going over huge hills and windy turns!!! I plan to get more active on Ko Samui, golfing, seeing the big buddha, and other such activities!!

Keep Rob away from the "massage" places...I don't think he has the right pills.

Hi Guys,
I just got your blog address from "Scotty". Please keep up the great stories. I am looking forward to cathing up with your prior entries when I have more free time... wish I had a cushy job like Scotty. Take care.

Hi Sarah/Mr. Cool........new shades yet??

I posted a reply on Our Beach and Our Bungalo from a few days ago re cochroaches. It´s funny......you guys are enjoying the hot end of the spectrum (sometimes overly so especially at night), Mom and Tim are on the cold end and I have spent the last week in the best weather I have ever experienced. Get closer to the equator, but not too close, add some elevation, wide fertile valleys a few hundred miles from the coast and......viola.....the Central Highlands of Mexico. ¨Cuernavara is called ¨the City of Eternal Spring for good reason. Apparently it is essentially the same all year ....low 20´s C in the blue sky days (occasional gentle breeze) and perfect night temperatures. There is no mystery whatsoever as to why the ancients choose here to inhabit but plenty of (most interesting) mystery as to how they did it. This part of Mexico is not very tourist developed but if there was ever a better place for a golf course...........I´m back to Calgary in a couple of days and delighted to hear there´s powder in the mountsins. Sarah, you´ll probably get a chance to enjoy some of it if you get back in early April. Congrats re the acceptances! Last year nobody wants you and now you can´t fill the demand! Have fun choosing and the rest of your time in Asia. PS I'll put in a good word to the elves to pass on to Santa for Rob.
Love Dad
